SHILOH CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY in Kingman, Maine
Haushaben is a vision for "End Times" community based on the standards and beliefs of the
Early Church and the Anabaptist restorationists of 500 years ago, (AMISH, MENNONITES and
HUTTERITES). Our first community, called SHILOH, is located in northern Maine. It is a working
farm in progress, including a 96' greenhouse! We grow most of our food ( all organic). So,
Haushaben is the vision, SHILOH COMMUNITY is the first fruit of that vision!
Early Church and the Anabaptist restorationists of 500 years ago, (AMISH, MENNONITES and
HUTTERITES). Our first community, called SHILOH, is located in northern Maine. It is a working

to live together in such a manner as to be an actual VISIBLE example of
the Kingdom of God here on earth!
The world system is exposed for what it is...the work of satan. Our jobs
are"out-sourced " around the world; the economy is collapsed because of
the greed of the rich; we lose our jobs and then our homes; health care
reform includes death counseling to urge the elderly to die;...Christians,
away from this mess we must seek peace and security together as
Gods people did when the Church was young (Acts 4: 31-35)

Just when reasonable people say, "things could not
get any worse!"...THEY DO

Bible Christians are being murdered, Churches
burned in Africa and Asia; a Church teaching Holiness
and modest living (they dress plain), threatened for educating their children
according to the Bible. The government wants to seize the children, so the mothers fled
with them to Austria,(yes, this happening again in Germany..sounds much like the
1930's); California is about to legalize the "recreational use of pot, ( and drug addiction
continues to soar...); scandals abound involving sex and sacraments;
Wars without end (or victory), homelessness, house foreclosures; job loses;
banks failing; broken homes and broken promises from a government who is dis-
connected from the needs of working people;
Mind (and soul) numbing television that gets more perverse and con-
tinues to corrupt generation after generation....

Before you read further; consider this. We strive to live Holy and righteous lives before God and our neighbors. We have a good reputation with those in the world about us. We do not hold to the theology of "sin we must". We believe, as did the early Church, that our Savior Jesus came and died to free us from sin, not "in sin". Amidst all the theologies that abound most have compromised with the world, seeking it's approval, thinking they are still in Gods Way. That is for the Father to decide. We wish to live obedient lives, separated from all that encumbers our witness. This is what is lacking and is the reason for the Church of Jesus Christ being so lack-luster and , frankly, dead! |
We seek singles, couples, (children too); seniors including those brothers and sisters with handicaps. Come visit and see for yourself if this is what God is calling you to. We all work as able and the men always "Do the Dishes". We believe, as did Eberhard Arnold, that "WORK IS LOVE MADE VISIBLE". So call, arrange a visit and work with us in the fields,the shops and kitchen, (We won't charge you for your stay, nor pay you for your work...here, we are truly all brothers and sisters ). Lastly, let us be clear about an issue that divides and saddens untold numbers of sincere Christians...the issue of divorce and remarriage! We DO accept such as brothers and sisters , feeling the issue of separation from loved-ones is as painful for them (and the Church) as it was the issue for Solomon. |

Anabaptists, (Hutterites); was used to
identify a safe place or home to escape from
the brutal persecution from Protestants and
Catholics alike, during the Reformation 500
years ago.
It was also a period of relative peace
afterwards which held worse dangers, as
some fell prey to the allure of this world and
turned away from Jesus and the Church.
