Peter Walpot, an Anabaptist Elder , (Hutterite), some 500 years ago, made the
statement, "A Christian cannot own private property". I would ask, in the light of
Lactantius' words, "Is private property a hindrance to your Christian walk and
witness?"
This page shall be a sort of "newsletter for our
community in Kingman, Maine called
SHILOH.
We will publish news, building projects, farm
happening at SHILOH and amongst our
neighbors  that our Dear Savior has called us
to minister to.
Hopefully this will be a monthly peek at
SHILOH to share with all.
Joyful Noize will also be sent as a monthly
newsletter via email and snail mail.
FRED JONES
An old man, whose Born Again, helping make a new BARN A'GIN.
I'm proof, having been raised in a city, that anybody
can learn new skills. We are in much need of help of
all kinds; you visit, and we'll find a task that fits you
to a "T".. The "barn A'gin houses our farm power
machines; tiller, snow blower, lawn mower,  and
misc. hand tools, rakes etc.
The Start Of Our New Strawberry Patch
Here's brother Nick with our new roto-tiller...twice as powerful as the
one that was destroyed in the barn fire.
This afternoon, we shall plant 50 new strawberry plants and try to
salvage what we can from the old patch
Thanks To The Friends Of Haushaben, We Now Have Deck And Ramp To
the Meeting / Dining Room
In a few short days last week and the help of
volunteers, ,we erected a deck with a ramp for
handicapped visitors ( plus those of us who are
showing some age!).
It includes a new post for our bell that, though
singed, survived the fire.
Our daily activity is generally regulated by a
ring of the bell. (sister Esther, in her 80's, has
been known to ring so hard that she summons
the moose and deer to meeting).
...amd here are the first of 50 new strawberry plants. We shall
transplant as many as we can salvage from the old patch.
BLESSINGS ABOUND...FROM BABY CHICKS TO A NEW DEERE, (John Deere that is )
24 baby chicks and our tractor both arrived last Friday, 5/14/10.
they are 12 Rhode Island Reds and 12 Plymouth Barred Rocks;
both prolific layers. (we'll enjoy lots of omeletes! (we still get 6-7
eggs daily from our ducks and older chickens)
That's good neighbor Wade on the John Deere 2305 and Fred
walking along side holding the instruction manual, giving
encouragement and saying, "hey , it says here on page 12, blah
blah blah etc".
It seems that the bad news continues more and more worse each day. My anecdote is to go to our
fields and lose myself in the joy of planting peas in our 50' raised beds. I can choose how to
entertain myself...with the "managed news broadcasts or observing and contributing to the wonder
of new plants growing"; noting again and again that " the seed must go into the ground and die
before it can bring forth new life".
JULY 2010
New faces have arrived and bless us all. Others have left. Many more are sought as
our
mission/vision is narrowed by the holy Spirit to seek out the poor (in their spirits
as well as
economically). The Gospel is indeed a Gospel of the poor!
